BookMyShow Registration for PM Modi’s Vadodara Event Full in 1 Hour; Over 42,000 on Waitlist

Vadodara: Registration for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s programme in Vadodara filled up within an hour of opening on BookMyShow, with more than 42,000 additional applicants placed on the waiting list. The government described the digital registration initiative as a first-of-its-kind effort to facilitate public participation in the event.
The Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) is using the private digital platform to provide free registration for the programme scheduled for Tuesday. With all available seats booked, registrations have now been closed.
The digital system will also be used for entry verification at the venue. Registered participants will receive an M-Ticket through their BookMyShow accounts, featuring a secure, live QR code that will be scanned for entry.
According to the government, registration, verification, entry and seating arrangements are being managed through the digital system, which is aimed at streamlining the movement of attendees at the venue.
PM Modi to inaugurate, dedicate projects in Vadodara
PM Modi is scheduled to visit Vadodara on Tuesday to inaugurate and dedicate several development projects and lay foundation stones for new works.
Among the major projects being dedicated to the nation are three sections of the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor (WDFC), covering 326 route kilometres and developed at a cost of more than ₹20,700 crore.
The sections include Sanand (North)-Makarpura, New Umbergaon-New Saphale and New Saphale-JNPT. Their commissioning will provide direct connectivity to the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority and is expected to facilitate EXIM cargo movement between industrial centres and ports.
The Prime Minister will also flag off freight train services from New Sanand (North), New Makarpura, New Umbergaon and New JNPT in Mumbai.
A new train service between Vadodara and Tanda Road will also be flagged off, benefiting passengers in Vadodara, Chhota Udepur and Alirajpur districts.
Railway, highway projects on agenda
PM Modi will lay the foundation stone for three railway projects spanning 329 km and involving an investment of more than ₹9,700 crore.
The projects include the Vadodara-Ratlam third and fourth railway lines, Miyagam Karjan-Choranda-Malsar gauge conversion and Vishwamitri-Dabhoi railway line doubling.
He will also lay the foundation stone for three national highway projects worth around ₹1,780 crore, besides various Gujarat government projects with a combined value of around ₹2,600 crore.
