Nora Fatehi faces Rs 3 crore suit over ‘toy airplane’ remarks; Gandhinagar court to hear case

Gandhinagar: Actress Nora Fatehi is facing a Rs 3 crore civil defamation suit filed by aviation company Dunes Aviation over alleged derogatory remarks about its chartered aircraft. The case will be heard by Senior Civil Judge R Agarwal at a Gandhinagar court on September 25.

The dispute dates back to December last year, when Nora allegedly posted an Instagram video filmed aboard a Cessna Citation CJ2 during a Mumbai-Jaipur flight, describing the aircraft as a “miniature”, “toy” and “Lego airplane”.

Dunes Aviation has alleged that the remarks were reckless and defamatory and damaged its reputation and business. The company claims the posts resulted in booking cancellations and a 15–20% decline in bookings, causing financial losses and reputational damage.

The aviation company has maintained that the aircraft was DGCA-certified, airworthy and appropriately sized for the route, and was being operated legally under a valid Non-Scheduled Operator’s Permit (NSOP).

Dunes Aviation has sought Rs 3 crore in damages, removal of the disputed social media content and a public clarification from Nora. It has also cited her 4.6 crore-plus Instagram followers, alleging that her reach amplified the alleged reputational and commercial impact of the remarks. DeshGujarat
