SMC water supply to be disrupted in parts of Surat on Sept 10

Surat: Water supply in several areas of Surat will be affected on Thursday, September 10, due to valve installation work on a transmission line outside the Bhestan Water Distribution Station, the Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) said.

The work will be carried out in areas under South Zone-A (Udhna) and South Zone-B (Kanakpur) at different times throughout the day.

In South Zone-A (Udhna), water supply will be affected from 5 pm to 10:30 pm in Gitanagar, Harsiddhinagar, Tulsidham Society, Ravinagar, Satyanarayan Nagar, Jayambe Nagar, Rameshwaram Green, Rameshwaram Hills, Shringal Residency, Maratha Nagar, Kailash Nagar and surrounding areas.

In South Zone-B (Kanakpur), the affected areas and timings are:

  • 5 am to 8 am: Rahatnagar, Tirupati Balaji Society and surrounding areas.
  • 8:15 am to 1 pm: Un-West, Bhindi Bazaar, Un Gamtal, Sai Mohan Society V-4 and surrounding areas.
  • 2 pm to 6 pm: Gabheni Gamtal, Rameshwar Industries and surrounding areas.
  • 4 pm to 8 pm: Un Tirupati Nagar and surrounding areas.
  • 8 pm to midnight: Gabheni Rameshwar Industries, Somnath Nagar and surrounding areas.
  • 9 am to 3 pm: Jiav, Budiya village and surrounding areas.
  • 8:30 pm to 10 pm: Sonari village, Sai Nagar and surrounding areas.

The SMC has advised residents in the affected areas to store sufficient water in advance and use it sparingly during the disruption.

The civic body has appealed to citizens to cooperate during the maintenance work and expressed regret for the inconvenience caused.
