WCEF 2026 to be held at Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar from Sept 15-18

Gandhinagar: The international World Circular Economy Forum (WCEF) 2026 will be held from September 15 to 18 at Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar, Spokesperson Minister Jitu Vaghani said after the Cabinet meeting. This is the first time the forum will be organised in Gujarat.

Vaghani said the WCEF is a leading global platform for policy dialogue, knowledge exchange and international cooperation on the circular economy. The 10th edition of WCEF 2026 will be inaugurated by Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and Union Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav.

The forum will bring together policymakers, international organisations, financial institutions and academic institutions to promote resource efficiency, sustainable production and consumption, innovation and circular economy-based business models.

Around 2,500 delegates from India and abroad are expected to participate in the forum. The event is being organised by the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) under the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India, in partnership with the Gujarat government and in collaboration with Finland’s Sitra.

The four-day event will feature four plenary sessions, 16 parallel technical sessions and 80 accelerator sessions. A total of 146 exhibition stalls will also be set up, including 11 international and 135 Indian stalls. Of the Indian stalls, 63 will be from Gujarat.

WCEF 2026 is expected to showcase India’s and Gujarat’s efforts in circular economy, resource efficiency, sustainable industrial development, recycling, waste management and Mission LiFE at the global level. DeshGujarat
