Gujarat ACB nabs 2 govt engineers in ₹40,000 bribery case

Navsari: The Gujarat Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has nabbed two engineers of the Gujarat State Police Housing Corporation Ltd. in a bribery case, catching a contract-based Assistant Engineer red-handed while allegedly accepting ₹40,000 and subsequently apprehending a Deputy Executive Engineer for his alleged involvement.

According to the ACB, the complainant had constructed a compound wall under a government tender. The accused allegedly demanded ₹50,000 to process the approval for payment of the wall’s bill. Following negotiations, the bribe amount was settled at ₹40,000.

Based on the complaint, the ACB laid a trap on September 10. During the operation, Nayan Rajabhai Baldaniya, a contract-based Assistant Engineer at the Sub-Divisional Office of the Gujarat State Police Housing Corporation Ltd., allegedly demanded and accepted ₹40,000 from the complainant and was caught red-handed.

During the subsequent investigation, Brijeshbhai Rameshbhai Gondaliya, Deputy Executive Engineer (Class-2) with the Gujarat State Police Housing Corporation Ltd., was also apprehended for his alleged involvement in the case.
