Where did it rain in Gujarat and how much? Here are 24-hour figures

Gujarat: Widespread rainfall was recorded across Gujarat over the past 24 hours, with 259 talukas receiving rain between 6 am on September 14 and 6 am on September 15, according to State Emergency Operations Centre data.

Anjar in Kutch recorded the highest rainfall at 184 mm (7.24 inches), followed by Vallabhipur in Bhavnagar with 155 mm (6.10 inches). Jamnagar received 142 mm (5.59 inches), Borsad 140 mm (5.51 inches), Una 138 mm (5.43 inches) and Kotda Sangani in Rajkot district 132 mm (5.20 inches).

In Kutch, Gandhidham recorded 117 mm (4.61 inches), while Bhuj received 84 mm (3.31 inches), Lakhpat 77 mm (3.03 inches), Mundra 63 mm (2.48 inches) and Mandvi 52 mm (2.05 inches).

In Ahmedabad district, Dholka recorded 105 mm (4.13 inches), followed by Daskroi with 89 mm (3.50 inches). Ahmedabad City recorded 87 mm (3.43 inches) during the 24-hour period.

In Bhavnagar district, heavy to very heavy rainfall in Vallabhipur, Palitana and Umrala led to waterlogging in low-lying areas. District disaster management authorities are monitoring the situation as a precautionary measure.

Heavy rain in Rajkot city and district also caused waterlogging on several major roads, including Kalavad Road, Yagnik Road, Morbi Road and the 150-foot Ring Road.

In Diu, continuous rainfall over the past two days caused waterlogging in low-lying areas, disrupting normal life and resulting in rainwater entering some houses.

The Meteorological Department has issued a Yellow Alert for Saurashtra and Kutch for Tuesday and forecast the possibility of light rain in other parts of Gujarat, including Ahmedabad.
