Gujarat govt approves preliminary TP Scheme 457 for Godhavi in Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad: The Gujarat government has sanctioned the Preliminary Town Planning (TP) Scheme No. 457 for Godhavi in Ahmedabad, with several modifications to final plot areas, boundaries, locations and land-use provisions.

The Urban Development and Urban Housing Department recently issued a notification under Section 65 of the Gujarat Town Planning and Urban Development Act, 1976. The scheme was prepared by the Ahmedabad Urban Development Authority (AUDA) and submitted by the appointed Town Planning Officer.

As part of the approved modifications, a 10% deduction from the original land parcels has been applied in several cases before the allocation of final plots. The government has also altered the size of several final plots.

For instance, Final Plot No. 122, designated for social infrastructure, has been reduced from 9,996 sq metres to 3,314 sq metres. Plot No. 108/1, measuring 1,148 sq metres, has been deleted from the scheme.

Several other plots have seen increases in their allotted areas. Final Plot No. 26 has increased from 2,368 sq metres to 3,551 sq metres, while Plot No. 75/2 has increased from 1,200 sq metres to 1,800 sq metres. Plot No. 20 has been expanded from 7,042 sq metres to 10,562 sq metres.

Meanwhile, Plot No. 112/1 has been reduced from 23,941 sq metres to 18,345 sq metres, while Plot No. 109, earmarked for sports purposes, has been reduced from 33,182 sq metres to 20,831 sq metres.

The government has directed that the preliminary TP scheme, along with its maps and redistribution statement, be modified accordingly. The approved scheme will also be kept open for public inspection at the AUDA office during working hours on working days.

The scheme is expected to facilitate the development of the road network and other infrastructure in Godhavi and adjoining areas.

The area has also been designated under the KZ3 category, considering proposed sports-related activities and an upcoming sports complex. The TP scheme is being implemented in the context of plans to develop sports infrastructure ahead of major international sporting events, including the Commonwealth Games and Olympic Games.
