Gujarat semiconductor startup IndieSemiC unveils India’s first indigenous VEGA-based LoRa module

New Delhi: Gujarat-based semiconductor startup IndieSemiC Pvt. Ltd. has unveiled its ISC-VEGA-SOM, which it describes as India’s first indigenous System-on-Module (SoM) integrating a VEGA-based processor with LoRa wireless technology, at SEMICON India 2026.

The product was launched by Union Minister for Electronics and Information Technology, Railways, and Information & Broadcasting Ashwini Vaishnaw at Yashobhoomi in New Delhi.

The ISC-VEGA-SOM combines C-DAC’s VEGA Thejas32 processor with IndieSemiC’s globally certified LoRa RF module. The company said the platform is aimed at applications requiring indigenous semiconductor and wireless communication technologies.

The product was designed and developed by IndieSemiC under the Industry Support Centre (ISC), a MeitY-funded innovation support initiative of C-DAC.

The launch highlights collaboration between government-backed research and development institutions and Indian deep-tech startups to bring indigenous semiconductor technologies to commercial applications.

According to a press release, the platform is expected to support the development of locally designed embedded and wireless solutions while contributing to India’s semiconductor ecosystem. DeshGujarat
