₹106.52-crore four-lane Vadaj flyover ready for inauguration

Ahmedabad: A new four-lane flyover at Vadaj Junction has been completed at a cost of ₹106.52 crore and is expected to ease traffic congestion for more than one lakh motorists travelling through the area every day after its opening.

The 735-metre-long flyover links Vadaj and Ranip junctions and is expected to improve traffic flow between Gandhi Ashram and Ramapir Tekra. The project also features under-space parking, green patches, traffic islands and improved junction channelisation.

Construction of the flyover, which began in July 2023, has been completed, and the civic body has also completed the load-bearing test of the bridge. Finishing work, including painting and installation of lighting, is currently underway ahead of its opening.

The flyover is likely to be dedicated to the public by Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel on Thursday.

The flyover is expected to provide relief from long queues that frequently build up at Vadaj Junction and surrounding roads, particularly during peak hours. By allowing traffic to bypass three junctions, the bridge is expected to reduce travel time and fuel consumption for commuters. DeshGujarat
