Nirma University professor grabs student by collar over ‘Jaldi kar, Panvel nikalna hai’ remark

Ahmedabad: A video purportedly showing a professor at Nirma University grabbing a student’s collar and threatening him during a university event has surfaced online.

The incident reportedly took place during Technophora, an event organised by students of the Electronics and Instrumentation (EI) department. A stand-up comedy show featuring comedian Rajat Sood was underway when HOD and professor H.K. Patel was addressing the gathering.

According to the video, while Patel was speaking on the microphone, a student made a remark quoting a dialogue from Golmaal 3: “Jaldi bol, kal subah Panvel nikalna hai.” Following the comment, Patel called the student onto the stage and allegedly grabbed him by the collar.

In the video circulating on social media, the professor can be heard telling the student, “I can go up to any extent. The day you dare to insult any faculty of the Nirma University campus, you are gone forever.”

When contacted for a response to the controversy, Patel reportedly declined to comment, saying, “I have nothing to say.”
