Aluminium Bharat 2026 exhibition opens in Gandhinagar with 500+ exhibitors

Gandhinagar: ALUMINIUM BHARAT 2026, a major exhibition showcasing India’s aluminium industry and value chain, opened at the Helipad Exhibition Centre in Gandhinagar on Saturday.

Organised by the Aluminium Extrusion Manufacturers Association of India (ALEMAI), the four-day exhibition, being held from September 26 to 29 alongside ALUMEX INDIA 2026, brings together manufacturers, recyclers, technology providers, buyers, policymakers and international stakeholders.

Spread across more than 30,000 square metres, the exhibition features over 500 exhibitors and is expected to draw more than 50,000 visitors, including international buyers and industry professionals.

The event comes amid growing demand for aluminium in electric mobility, automotive, renewable energy, infrastructure, construction and engineering. Industry stakeholders, however, are also facing higher energy and input costs, volatile raw material prices, supply-chain disruptions and changing global trade conditions.

According to ALEMAI, India’s aluminium extrusion industry has an installed capacity of around 30 lakh tonnes annually, while current domestic production stands at about 10–12 lakh tonnes. Downstream aluminium imports are estimated at 12–15 lakh tonnes a year.

ALEMAI has called for tariff rationalisation, lower input and financing costs and measures to improve capacity utilisation and competitiveness of domestic manufacturers. The association has also sought a review of tariff differentials under Free Trade Agreements, citing competition from imported downstream aluminium products.

“India has the resources, manufacturing base and technical capabilities to significantly expand its position in value-added aluminium products,” ALEMAI President Jitendra Chopra said, adding that the industry needs a balanced policy framework to support MSMEs, attract investment and improve competitiveness.

Vejalpur MLA Amit Thaker said strengthening downstream aluminium manufacturing could help create employment, encourage innovation and increase domestic value addition.

The exhibition will feature business meetings, technical sessions and industry interactions focused on new applications, technology partnerships, investment opportunities and greater value addition within India.

ALEMAI said the event aims to promote collaboration across the aluminium value chain and support the development of a more competitive domestic aluminium manufacturing ecosystem. DeshGujarat
