Which places in Gujarat might see rain in next 7 days? Here’s IMD forecast

Ahmedabad: With the southwest monsoon entering its withdrawal phase, parts of Gujarat are likely to receive light to moderate rain and thundershowers over the next seven days, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasting isolated rainfall mainly over South Gujarat and parts of North Gujarat and Kutch.

According to the IMD’s forecast issued on September 26, rainfall activity is expected to remain limited to isolated locations. No weather warning has been issued for Gujarat, Daman, Diu or Dadra and Nagar Haveli during the seven-day period.

On September 26, isolated light to moderate rain or thundershowers are likely in Panchmahal, Dahod, Mahisagar, Vadodara, Chhota Udepur, Narmada, Bharuch, Surat, Dang, Navsari, Valsad and Tapi, as well as Daman and Dadra and Nagar Haveli.

Dry weather is expected across Saurashtra-Kutch, Diu and the remaining districts of North Gujarat.

On September 27, rainfall activity is likely in Vadodara, Chhota Udepur, Narmada, Bharuch, Surat, Tapi, Dang, Navsari and Valsad, along with Daman and Dadra and Nagar Haveli. The IMD has forecast dry weather across North Gujarat, Saurashtra-Kutch and Diu.

On September 28 and 29, isolated rain or thundershowers are likely in Surat, Tapi, Dang, Navsari and Valsad, along with Daman and Dadra and Nagar Haveli. Dry conditions are likely over North Gujarat, Saurashtra-Kutch, Diu and the remaining parts of South Gujarat.

On September 30, rainfall is expected to expand to parts of North Gujarat, with isolated light to moderate rain or thundershowers likely in Banaskantha, Patan and Vav-Tharad.

In South Gujarat, Surat, Dang, Navsari, Valsad and Tapi may receive isolated rainfall, along with Daman and Dadra and Nagar Haveli. The IMD has also forecast isolated rain in Kutch. Dry weather is expected across Saurashtra, Diu and the remaining districts.

On October 1, isolated rainfall is likely in Banaskantha, Patan and Vav-Tharad in North Gujarat. In South Gujarat, Surat, Dang, Navsari, Valsad and Tapi may see isolated rain or thundershowers. Jamnagar, Morbi, Devbhumi Dwarka and Kutch may also receive isolated rainfall. Dry weather is likely across the remaining parts of Gujarat, Saurashtra and Diu.

On October 2, the rainfall pattern is expected to remain similar. Banaskantha, Patan and Vav-Tharad may receive isolated light to moderate rain or thundershowers. In South Gujarat, isolated rainfall is likely in Surat, Dang, Navsari, Valsad and Tapi, along with Daman and Dadra and Nagar Haveli. Kutch may also receive isolated rainfall.

The IMD has issued no warning for heavy rainfall, thunderstorms or other severe weather over Gujarat during the next seven days. The term “isolated” indicates that rainfall is expected at one or two places in the concerned areas.

For Ahmedabad and neighbouring areas, the IMD has forecast partly cloudy skies up to the morning of September 27, with no rainfall or heavy rainfall warning.
