Gujarat govt to procure paddy, maize, bajra, jowar and ragi at MSP from Nov 16

Ahmedabad: The Gujarat government will begin direct procurement of paddy, maize, pearl millet (bajra), sorghum (jowar) and finger millet (ragi) from farmers at the Minimum Support Price (MSP) from November 16 for the Kharif Marketing Season 2026-27.

Farmers intending to sell their produce at MSP must complete online registration between October 2 and October 31, 2026. The procurement process will be conducted from November 16, 2026, to January 15, 2027, through the Gujarat State Civil Supplies Corporation Ltd.

For the 2026-27 Kharif season, the MSP has been fixed at Rs 2,441 per quintal for common paddy, Rs 2,461 for Grade-A paddy and Rs 2,410 for maize. The MSP for bajra is Rs 2,900 per quintal, while hybrid jowar has been fixed at Rs 4,023 and Maldandi jowar at Rs 4,073 per quintal. Ragi will be procured at Rs 5,205 per quintal. An additional bonus of Rs 300 per quintal will be provided for bajra, hybrid jowar, Maldandi jowar and ragi.

Registration process

Farmers can register online at the village level through Village Computer Entrepreneurs (VCEs) across Gujarat between October 2 and October 31. Registration will require biometric authentication.

Farmers must carry their Aadhaar card, recent land records (7/12 and 8-A forms) and, where crop-sowing details are not recorded in the land records, a certificate signed and stamped by the concerned Talati. They must also provide bank account details through a photocopy of their bank passbook or a cancelled cheque.

Online registration is mandatory for farmers seeking to sell their produce under the MSP procurement scheme. Farmers have been advised to contact their respective Gram Panchayat for completing the registration process.

SMS alerts for registered farmers

Farmers who complete the registration process will receive SMS notifications regarding procurement. They will be required to carry their Aadhaar card or other identity proof when bringing their produce for procurement.

The produce will be procured only after biometric authentication of the registered farmer. The Corporation has warned that registrations may be cancelled if incorrect documents are found during verification, and such farmers will not receive procurement notifications.
