Gujarat Govt to buy Groundnut, Moong, Urad, Soybean at MSP; registration from Sept 10

Ahmedabad: Registration for the procurement of Kharif crops, groundnut, moong, urad and soybean, at minimum support prices (MSP) in Gujarat will begin on September 10, Agriculture Minister Jitubhai Vaghani said. The state government has decided to procure the four Kharif crops at support prices for the 2026-27 season to ensure farmers receive remunerative prices for their produce, a press release said.

Registration will remain open from September 10 to October 9, 2026. Farmers can register free of cost at e-Gram centres through Aadhaar authentication using their Farmer ID, with assistance from Village Computer Entrepreneurs (VCEs) or Village Level Entrepreneurs (VLEs).

Farmers can also register through their smartphones by visiting the Farmer Registry Gujarat portal or by downloading the ‘Farmer Registry Gujarat’ mobile app.

The procurement will be carried out under the PM-Asha (Pradhan Mantri Annadata Aay Sanrakshan Abhiyan) scheme of the Government of India, aimed at providing financial protection to farmers.

For the 2026-27 season, the MSP has been fixed at ₹7,517 per quintal for groundnut, ₹8,780 per quintal for moong, ₹8,200 per quintal for urad and ₹5,708 per quintal for soybean.

According to the Agriculture Minister, farmers can register through either of the following methods:

1. Online registration: Farmers can register through the gjfr.agristack.gov.in portal using their smartphones or by downloading the Farmer Registry Gujarat mobile app.
2. Assisted registration: Farmers can visit their village VCE/VLE operator, Common Service Centre (CSC) or Gramsevak for registration.

The extent of the survey numbers covered under the Farmer Registration will be considered during the registration process. Farmers have therefore been advised to include all their survey numbers.

As payments for the procured produce will be made directly to farmers’ Aadhaar-seeded bank accounts through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), farmers have been advised to ensure that their bank accounts are active and linked with Aadhaar to avoid delays in receiving payments.
