Rajkot man unleashes pet dog on neighbour; German Shepherd attack video goes viral

Rajkot: A 34-year-old man was attacked by his neighbour’s German Shepherd and beaten with an iron dog chain over an old dispute in the Amarnagar area. The incident, which was captured on CCTV, has prompted the Malaviyanagar police to launch an investigation.

The victim, Kishanbhai Rameshbhai Mevada, a rickshaw driver, was sitting near his home in Amarnagar Street No. 1 around 7 pm on Monday when his neighbour, Deep Krishnasinh Jadeja, arrived with his pet German Shepherd.

According to the complaint, Jadeja picked a quarrel with Mevada over an old dispute linked to a mobile phone and accused him of speaking about him to the Crime Branch.

The argument allegedly turned violent, with Jadeja beating Mevada with the iron chain used to tie the dog and unleashing the German Shepherd on him.

The dog repeatedly bit Mevada on his left and right arms and left leg, causing bleeding injuries. He also suffered injuries to his forehead and near his right eye in the alleged chain assault.

Mevada reportedly managed to run towards his home, but Jadeja followed him and abused his wife. Neighbours then gathered at the spot, following which Jadeja fled with the dog.

Mevada’s father, Rameshbhai, called the 112 helpline and 108 ambulance service after the incident. He was taken to Rajkot Civil Hospital for treatment.

The Malaviyanagar police are investigating the complaint, while CCTV footage of the attack has surfaced as part of the investigation.
