ED searches Gujarat, other states in bogus CSR donation racket case

Mumbai: The Mumbai Zone of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) is conducting searches at around eight locations across Gujarat, Maharashtra, West Bengal and Delhi-NCR as part of an investigation into an alleged bogus CSR donation racket involving Dr Dharmendra Kumar and others.
It is learnt that the searches are being carried out at five locations in Maharashtra, one in West Bengal, one in Gujarat and one in Delhi-NCR, covering premises linked to market operators, trustees and middlemen. The probe has so far indicated a suspected bogus CSR network involving hundreds of crores of rupees.
According to the investigation, certain trusts were allegedly created specifically to route mandatory CSR contributions back to donors in exchange for commissions.
The agency is examining electronic devices seized during the searches, while further investigation is underway. DeshGujarat
