23 Kg Food Items Destroyed by VMC team at Restaurant Promoted by Influencers, Rs. 5,000 Fine

Vadodara: Rs. 99 unlimited 20 items for lunch, Rs. 149 unlimited food items for dinner. Several influencers had recently posted videos on Instagram promoting a restaurant in Vadodara that has now been fined by the Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) food safety team for unhygienic conditions. The civic body also destroyed 23 kg of unhygienic and adulterated food items found at the restaurant.
According to the VMC, its food safety team found 23 kg of unhygienic and adulterated food stock at The Great Pandas restaurant on the Harni-Varasiya Ring Road. The food items were destroyed by the officials, and the restaurant was fined Rs. 5,000 for unhygienic conditions.
Other food outlets, including Shivalay Punjabi and Chinese and Khimiya Farsan Mart, were also fined for unhygienic conditions.
The VMC team also inspected 33 hawker outlets near Uma Char Rasta, where it found 28 kg of unhygienic and adulterated food items. The stock was destroyed.
Notices were issued to several food outlets in different areas, while samples of 50 food items were collected for testing.
In total, the VMC team destroyed 51 kg of food items and imposed fines amounting to Rs. 11,300 during the drive. DeshGujarat
