Gandhinagar: A metro train suffered glitch near GIFT City in Gandhinagar on the morning of Friday, October 9, 2026. The incident involved a pilot (pre-service) train operating during an early morning inspection run. Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation (GMRC) restricted operations between PDEU and GIFT City stations, causing temporary service disruptions and commuter delays. Technical and engineering teams from the Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation (GMRC) were working on a war footing to clear the tracks, safely re-rail the train, and fully restore regular operations along the route. Authorities had temporarily cordoned off the specific track area for safety reasons.
