Gujarat Police Recruitment: Ex-Agniveers to Get Exemption from Written Exam

Gandhinagar: Former Agniveers will be eligible for recruitment to selected posts in the Gujarat Police without appearing for the physical test and written examination, as part of the state government’s provisions for their induction into uniformed services.

Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi announced the exemption from the written examination, adding to the earlier concessions provided to former Agniveers in physical tests and 3 – 5 years age limits.

Under the provisions announced earlier for former Agniveers, 20% of vacancies are reserved for them in designated police, jail and forest department posts. The first batch of former Agniveers will receive a five-year relaxation in the upper age limit.

The recruitment provisions cover the following posts:

  • Armed Police Sub-Inspector (PSI)

  • Armed Police Constable

  • State Reserve Police Force (SRPF) Constable

  • Jailor

  • Jail Sepoy

The exemption from the physical test is scheduled to take effect from July, according to the announcement.

The measures are intended to facilitate the transition of former Agniveers from military service to state government uniformed services by providing recruitment concessions and reservation in designated posts. DeshGujarat
