Gandhinagar GEB Railway Crossing to Remain Shut for Traffic for 12 Days
October 14, 2026
Gandhinagar: Railway Crossing No. 5, also known as the GEB Gate, located between Gandhinagar Yard and the Gujarat Electricity Board (GEB) power plant in Pethapur, will remain closed to vehicular traffic for 12 days from October 14 to October 25, 2026, due to repair and construction work by the Western Railway’s Ahmedabad Division.
According to the railway administration, work to construct a concrete road at the crossing will begin at 8 am on October 14 and continue until 8 pm on October 25. All types of vehicles will be prohibited from using the crossing during this period.
To minimise inconvenience to commuters, the railway authorities have announced an alternative route. Motorists travelling through the area can use Railway Crossing No. 4 while the GEB Gate remains closed.
Commuters have been advised to plan their journeys accordingly and use the designated alternative route during the construction period. DeshGujarat
