Gujarat Govt Disburses ₹1,100 Crore in Incentives to 14,853 Industries
October 14, 2026
Gandhinagar: The Gujarat government on Wednesday disbursed ₹1,100.19 crore in incentive assistance to 14,853 industrial units across the state through a single-click payment system.
Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi presided over the event in Gandhinagar, where the incentives were transferred directly to beneficiaries’ bank accounts. Of the total amount, ₹444.03 crore was disbursed to 11,052 beneficiaries under various Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) schemes, while ₹290.42 crore was released to 3,591 beneficiaries under textile schemes.
The large-scale industry sector received ₹360.89 crore for 196 beneficiaries, while another 14 beneficiaries received ₹4.85 crore under other schemes.
Addressing the gathering, Sanghavi said industrialists and traders had played a significant role in Gujarat’s economic growth. He said the state government was working to establish a transparent system and improve the ease of doing business.
Under the revised policy, the mandatory requirement of obtaining a bank loan to qualify for incentives has been removed, allowing entrepreneurs who establish businesses using their own capital to receive assistance. The government has also eliminated the requirement to submit around 16 documents to reduce paperwork and speed up administrative processes. According to Sanghavi, file processing has become three times faster over the past six months.
407 MSME plots allotted through online draw
The government also allotted 407 industrial plots, covering around 85 acres, to MSME units through an online draw to ensure transparency in the allocation process. The plots, each measuring less than 3,000 square metres, are located at Shekhpat, Khirasara-2 and Sanand-2. The draw was conducted from a pool of 4,665 applications.
Sanghavi said the new industrial policy had also attracted more than 346 applications from large-scale industries, including 27 from companies looking to return to Gujarat from other states.
He added that the government was encouraging first-generation entrepreneurs and women-led startups, with a particular focus on industries that generate employment for women, especially in tribal areas.
Smart GIDC to focus on basic amenities
Speaking about the Smart GIDC initiative, Sanghavi said industrial estates must prioritise cleanliness and basic amenities for workers. Future GIDC projects will require integrated infrastructure planning, including drainage systems, street lighting and service lines, rather than focusing solely on road construction.
He also said a state government delegation would visit Japan and South Korea in the coming months to explore new technologies and potential international partnerships. DeshGujarat
