Which Places in Gujarat Could Get Rain on Last Day of Navratri? Here’s IMD Forecast

Gujarat: Dry weather is likely to continue across Gujarat for the next three days, with isolated rain and thundershowers forecast in parts of South Gujarat and Saurashtra on October 19, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

On Octiver 19th, which is Maha Navrmi, the last day of Navratri, Navsari, Valsad, Amreli and Bhavnagar are among the districts likely to receive rain, while Daman, Dadra and Nagar Haveli may also experience showers.

In its weather forecast issued on October 16, the IMD said dry conditions were likely across Gujarat, including the Saurashtra-Kutch region, on October 17 and 18. Rainfall activity is expected to remain limited to isolated places on October 19, with dry weather likely to prevail across North Gujarat and the remaining districts of South Gujarat and Saurashtra-Kutch.

The weather is expected to turn dry again across the state from October 20 to 23, with no rainfall warnings issued for any district during the seven-day forecast period.

The IMD said a western disturbance, currently seen as a cyclonic circulation over north Punjab and adjoining areas at an altitude of 3.1 km to 4.5 km above mean sea level, continued to persist.

Another cyclonic circulation over south Rajasthan and adjoining north Gujarat, at around 0.9 km above mean sea level, was also persisting, which may be the contributing to the expected rainfall in parts of Gujarat on October 19. Meanwhile, Westerly to north-westerly winds were prevailing at lower levels over the region.

The IMD has also forecast no significant change in maximum and minimum temperatures across Gujarat over the next seven days.

In Ahmedabad, the sky is likely to remain mainly clear on October 17, with the maximum temperature expected to reach 38°C and the minimum temperature around 26°C. DeshGujarat
