Illegal Bangladeshi Migrant Woman Nabbed in Junagadh
October 17, 2026
Junagadh: Police have detained a woman suspected of being a Bangladeshi national after a preliminary investigation reportedly found that she had used different identities and lived at multiple addresses across several cities.
Police acted on information about a suspected Bangladeshi national living in Junagadh’s Madhuram area. During verification, the woman reportedly identified herself as Mithila Roy on October 12. However, document checks the following day allegedly revealed her identity as Khalida Begum, a resident of Narayanganj in Bangladesh.
Police recovered Aadhaar cards bearing different names and around four SIM cards from her possession.
Preliminary findings suggest that she had lived in Nalasopara, Surat and Junagadh under different identities. She reportedly visited Junagadh three to four times, allegedly using a different identity on each occasion.
Investigators are examining the documents, SIM cards and purchase receipts to verify her identity and establish her residential history. She is suspected of having lived in India for around three years, though the duration of her stay and the circumstances of her alleged entry into the country remain unverified.
Police are investigating how she entered India, why she allegedly used different identities and whether further action is warranted. DeshGujarat
