October 21, 2026
Vadodara: A seven-year-old girl and her mother were killed after a high-speed Windsor electric car rammed into a truck stranded on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway near Padra in Vadodara district. Four other occupants of the car were injured in the crash.
According to preliminary information, the truck had been stranded on the expressway for the past two days when the car crashed into its rear. The impact severely damaged the front of the car, trapping the occupants inside.
Teams from the police and fire brigade rushed to the spot following the accident. The Vasna Fire Brigade carried out a rescue operation that lasted nearly two hours, using specialised equipment to extricate the trapped occupants and recover the deceased woman’s body. The injured were shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Police have initiated an investigation into the incident. The crash has once again raised concerns over the safety risks posed by vehicles left stranded on the expressway, particularly when they remain there for extended periods. DeshGujarat
