Lakhpat the last taluka before Pakistan border to get college this year

Gujarat government has adopted policy that there should be at least one college in each taluka. The government has decided to go in mission mode to open new college in taulkas that don’t have any college.
In this course. the border taluka of Lakhpat in Kutch district of Gujarat is going to get an Arts and Commerce college, most probably from next academic year itself.
A piece of land for construction of college has been identified and finalized. Till the time the construction of college is not completed, the college will function in Dayapar based Model high school for first year students.
The announcement for college in Lakhpat was made in last budget. The college will be affiliated to Kutch University. Admission procedure will be done by University after std 12th results.
Model school in Dayapar has 40 rooms. However it is just a makeshift arrangement till the time new college building is constructed for which 8 acre land has been finalized.
Lakhpat has five high schools. As many as 300 students study in these schools in this belt upto Ravapar.
