Ahmedabad, DeshGujarat, 11 February, 2010
My Name is Khan’s release in theatres and multiplexes of Gujarat is uncertain. Late Thursday evening when contacted by DeshGujarat, Shri Ashok Purohit, President of Multiplex Owners Association said, each multiplex and theatre would decide whether to show or not to show this film as per the situation it faces tomorrow. Purohit said the association has not demanded any extra police protection.
When contacted, Shri Manubhai Patel, owner of Wide Angle multiplex hinted out that his mulitplex might not release the film at least in the first show. Another theatre – Drive In Cinema is also likely to cancel at least it’s first show.
A rumor was strong in Ahmedabad that at least 50 Shiv Sainiks had arrived in the city to prevent release of My name is Khan.
