CCTV vigil, heavy police bandobast in today’s Patidar function in Surat
September 08, 2016
Surat: According to Mahesh Savani, organizer of Rajasvi Sanman Samaroh in Surat today, CCTV cameras are installed at Patidar gathering venue in Surat today in which BJP leaders are to be felicitated.
Savani said he had learnt as many as 5,000 cops will be in civilian dress and placed in audience to keep vigil over possible trouble-makers. He said Minister of State for Home Pradipsinh Jadeja had himself visited the venue in order to check security for the public function which is also going to be attended by party’s national president Amit Shah.
The function organized by Patidar Abhivadan Samiti will have 10,000 volunteers.
According to police sources, 2 IG, 1 DIG, 6 DCP, 13 ACP, 29 PI, 70 PSI, 200 police jawans and 500 TRB jawans are to remain present from Surat city while from out of city 1 DIG, 1 DySP, 20 PI, 78 PSI, 60 women constables, 700 police jawans and 10 SRP companies are to be deployed in this function.
Meanwhile Hardik Patel aides have stated that Patidar community people will shout loud slogans of ‘Jay Sardar, Jay Patidar’ and ‘General Diar go back’ in Rajasvi Sanman Samaroh function.
Six offenses have been filed against Hardik Patel led PAAS agitators who were holding meetings without permission in Patidar populated area to provoke the people against the function. In total 20 are detained for 24 hours. Among them are Reshma Patel, Dharmik Malavia, Chirag Patel, Lalit Vasoy, Bhavesh Jajadia and others.
Congress and anti-BJP organization PAAS first tried to fail today’s Patidar function by holding number of meetings and asking Patidars not to go to the function. When they failed to achieve this they shifted the goal and decided to disturb the function by participating it and creating ruckus.
Congress had moved its Patidar leaders to Surat and held a press conference yesterday in which allegations against the BJP and Patidar function were made.
