Vadodara: Veteran actor Anupam Kher today claimed that only such people were opposing the historic demonetization move of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who were linked to one or the other scam.

He also reiterated that he was hopeful that article 370 of the constitution preventing people from other parts of the country from settling in Kashmir would be scrapped paving way to the development of the state.

During his ‘motivation lecture’ in the ongoing VCCI global trade show 2016 here, Kher said that the demonetization was a historic move. ‘We should have faith on the decision making powers of the PM. This historic move will certainly brighten the future of the country,’ he said.

Taking a dig at those political parties and leaders who were protesting against the demonetization, Kher, without taking any names, said that only such people were opposing the move whose names were linked to one or the other scam.

Talking about the Kashmir issue the actor, a Kashmiri himself, said that he was already hopeful that one day article 370 would be scrapped. ‘The development of Kashmir will take place only when people from other parts of the country would be able to settle in Kashmir and start business and buy property there. I also hope that the displaced Kashmiri pandits will be rehabilitated in Kashmir. Their refugee like status in their own country was not a good thing in any way,’ he said.

He also questioned the capabilities of Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi saying he should sing the national anthem in public because though he does not question his Indianness yet he has great doubt about his memory.

Kher also urged people to not to change them owing to the fear of criticism. ‘You yourself are the hero of your life. You should not change for the fear of criticism. To silence the critics one must overcome the obstacles in one’s way to success because such a success will stay for a long time. I, myself have faced many failures in my life but maintained my positive and optimistic attitude without accepting the defeat. This has brought me where I am today. This honesty of mine is my real power. Whenever I failed I thought that this failure has come because my good time is about to begin. My belief system has made me a successful actor as well as an honest and patriotic person,’ he said.
