Vaghela continues to remain in news; this time for another unclear remark and twitter handle
May 14, 2017
Gandhinagar: Ahead of Gujarat elections 2017, if there’s any single leader who is attracting highest publicity in news media locally, he is leader of opposition Shankersinh Vaghela.
For one or other reasons, Shankersinh remains in news. He first remained in news for his wish and attempts to get free-hand in Gujarat unit of Congress and projection as Congress party’s chief ministerial candidate. Shankersinh later has been in news for signals he gives indicating that he is not happy with the affairs in Congress party and he might choose to return to BJP.
News media in Gujarat is today running a story questioning why Shankersinh Vaghela has unfollowed all in his twitter account. Shankersinh last night unfollowed all whom he was following earlier. This includes Rahul Gandhi and other Congress leaders. Shankersinh also reportedly removed all tweets in which he had criticized the BJP.
In another development, Shankersinh while speaking to media persons at Bayad in north Gujarat said, ‘I fought assembly and Lok Sabha elections many times, now I want to fight for the issues people face. Politicians are real doctors of the society who solve problems’.
Shankersinh’s advisor had a few months ago advised him that he should be seen everywhere ahead of the elections – on social media, in news media and elsewhere in order to attract the attention of the people.
Whether calculatingly or in natural course, for whatever reason, Shankersinh remains in news for some or other reason.
For now the biggest question discussed in Gujarat is not whether BJP will win the election or Congress in Gujarat. The biggest question being discussed among people interested in political talks is whether Shankersinh Vaghela will rejoin BJP or not. If yes when!
