PM Narendra Modi to lay foundation stone of six development works at Kandla

Gandhidham: MoS in Centre Mansukh Mandaviya today hold a review meeting at the exhibition hall of Kandla Port Trust here to take stock of the preparations of the upcoming function of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on May 22 during which he will lay foundation stones of various developmental works to be completed at the cost of Rs 996 crores.

PM Modi will arrive in Kutch on May 22 and first inaugurate a pumping station of the Narmada water supply project in Lodhida village near Bhachau and then come here the same day to participate in the Kandla port event to he held the exhibition hall.

PRO of the port trust, Omprakash Dadlani said that

PM Modi would lay the foundation stone of altogether six developmental works including announcement of purchase of 2 mobile harbour cranes by unveiling the stone plates replica electronically from the dais.These include Babasaheb Ambedkar Convetnion Center (estimated construction cost Rs 15.26 crores ), 14 th and 16 th Cargo berths (Rs 253 crores and Rs 278 crores respectively), Railway bridge at Sal junction in Kutch ( Rs 233 crores) and Mechanic works for fertilizer handling at Kandla Port ( Rs 122 crores) and purchase of two mobile harbour crane (Rs 94 crores).

Top officials of the trust were present during the meeting of the minister today.

Notably during his third visit of Gujarat this year PM Modi will also participate in African Development Bank event at Mahatma Mandir in capital Gandhinagar on the next day ie May 23 before departing for Delhi the same day. He would also meet with senior leaders of ruling BJP during the visit.
