Central Gujarat town Nadiad gets city bus service

Central Gujarat’s Nadiad town has got its own city bus service again. For last some time the city bus service was non-functional in this important central Gujarat town. However thanks to efforts by Nadiad’s local ruling body and MLA, the service has been resumed.
VITCOS, a company that runs local buses in Bhavnagar, Vadodara and Gandhinagar has been roped in by local body of Nadiad to run local buses here. Initially the buses are made functional on 10 routes. The routes will be increased later on and will be extended to nearby villages also if viable. Commuters will have to pay Re.1 to Rs.4 depending on distance they travel. Students, senior citizens and physically challenged persons will get concession.
The first bus was flagged off from Shri Santaram Mandir in presence of Nagarpalika President, popular local BJP MLA and Santaram Mandir’s Saints.
Some of the first bunch of routes announced are;
Nadiad railway station-Civil hospital-railway station
Railway station-Gujarat hijing-railway station
Railway station-Jalaram Mandir-railway station
Railway station-Ramdev Pir mandir-railway station
Railway station-college-railway station
