Ahmedabad: Union HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar and Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani today inaugurated Space related exhibition ‘Beyond Planet Earth- The Future of Exploration’ in the Science City here.

The two leaders along with Gujarat Education Minister Bhupendra Chudasama, MoS Education Vibhawariben Dave, Chief Secretary J N Singh, Principal Secretary of Education department in Gujarat Anjuben Sharma and secretary Vinod Rao also saw the prototypes of Super Space Craft, Lunar Landing, Liquid Mirror, Mars Rover, Space View etc on the occasion.

The event was part of various programs being organized in the science city in the wake of the Vibrant Gujarat Summit.

Later talking to newsmen Javadekar said that the development of any country depends on the amount of research done by it. PM Narendra Modi has also highlighted the importance of research by giving the slogan ‘Jai Anusandhan’ (Victorious be the research). The government has also provided the opportunity to start ‘start-ups’ even from a hostel room.

Javadekar said that knowledge was highly important in 21st century that is why the government was giving importance to it and started Atal Tinkering labs for the students of Class 6 to 12. The need of the hour was that the institutes like IIT should mentor 10 schools around them.
