Foundation stone laid for Gujarat Biotechnology University

Gandhinagar: Chief Secretary of Gujarat Dr. JN Singh performed ground breaking at Shahpur near Gandhinagar city for Rs. 32 crore construction of Gujarat Biotechnology University (GBU). The first academic session of the university will start in June-July 2020 according to Dr. Singh.
The university will offer Masters and Phd courses. A research driven university will have incubation centre and research park also. It will have laboratories, plants herbarium, animal house, bio and gene banking etc facilities as per bio safety regulations prescribed by the government.
The university will have academic and administrative blocks, gene editing, genomics, bioinformatics, bio safety, tissue culture etc laboratories, pilot and proto type development facilities, library, canteen, sports facilities etc in 10 acre area.
