452 candidates in fray for 26 Lok Sabha seats of Gujarat after scrutiny of nominations

Gandhinagar: After scrutiny of nomination forms, there are now 452 candidates in fray for 26-seat Lok Sabha election in Gujarat. The number may go further down after the last date of withdrawal of nominations.
Total 572 candidates had filed nomination forms. Last date of filing nominations was April 4. Scrutiny procedure took place on April 5. Last date of withdrawal of nominations is April 8. Polling will take place on April 23.
Gujarat will also witness four-seat assembly by-polls along with the Lok Sabha elections. Out of total 83 nominations filed, 68 are considered valid.
Among 26-seats of Lok Sabha, highest 43 nominations are filed for Surendranagar seat while leats 8 are filed on each of Dahod and Chhota Udepur seats.
