All gates of Sardar Sarovar Narmada dam closed

Gandhinagar: The gates of Sardar Sarovar Narmada dam were closed today. According to Ashok Gajjar, Superintendent Engineer of Narmada dam, at 4.00 pm the level of water in Sardar Sarovar dam was 135.42 meter. All 30 gates of dam are closed at present. 6 units of riverbed power house are generating 1200 mw power after which 42,000 cusec water is flowing toward Bharuch. Canal head power house’s oene unit is also generating 50 MW power due to which discharge of 4600 cusec water is flowing to main canal.
