Ahmedabad, 27September, 2010
BJP supporters from the Overseas Friends of BJP (OFBJP) held a protest demonstration outside the Indian Consulate in New York, alleging that the central Indian investigating agency CBI was being misused by the ruling UPA-Congress Government against Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi.
In a memorandum submitted to the New York Consulate, the OFBJP urged the President of India to instruct the UPA government to allow CBI to work “independently without any political interference.”
Vice President of Andhra Pradesh BJP Vijay Lakshmi in her address to the protesters said, “Congress government is using CBI to malign him and tarnish his image in the eyes of public.”
