Gandhinagar: The Government of Gujarat today said it has taken an in-principle decision to grant the ‘Cente of Excellence’ status to seven universities in the State, that are – Nirma University, Charotar University of Science and Technology (CHARUSAT) University, Ahmedabad University, Marwadi University, Pandit Deendayal Energy University (formerly PDPU), Centre for Environmental Planning & Technology (CEPT) and Dhirubhai Ambani Institute of Information and Communication Technology (DA-IICT). According to a note, the State education minister will hold a meeting with those at the helm of these seven universities in next one week and prepare an action plan after studying the model of the top ten Indian and global universities.
