ACB Gujarat nabs two corporators, husband of third corporator and a child in bribe case

Gandhinagar: Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Gujarat has nabbed four persons including a child, two corporators and husband of a lady corporator in Rs. 20,000 bribe case in Viramgam today.
Two accused corporators of Viramgam municipality are Ajay Thakor and Anil Patel who are elected from ward number – 1 and Ratilal Gandabhai Thakor, husband of corporator Kanchanben.
Complainant in this case is a contractor who into the business of soil excavation work. He had to excavate a pond for which two corporators and a husband of lady corporators had demanded Rs. 30,000 (Rs. 10,000 for each). A complainant gave away a mobile phone worth Rs. 10,000 to accused Anil Patel. For rest of Rs. 20,000 bribe, the accused were making repeated demands. As complainant didn’t want to pay bribe, he contacted ACB, following which a trap was arranged in which a child, and ward number one corporator Ajay Thakor in collusion of each other were nabbed while demanding and receiving bribe.
A child has been sent to observation home while the others were detained. DeshGujarat
