Amit Shah launches Vatan Prem Yojana of Gujarat government

Gandhinagar: Union home minister Amit Shah today virtually launched ‘Vatan Prem’ scheme of Gujarat government under which Non Resident Gujaratis and the Government of Gujarat will partner for development projects in villages of the State.
For prescribed development projects in villages, such as class room, smart class, community hall, primary health centre, anganwadi, library, vyayam ground, CCTV camera surveillance system, cremation place, sports ground, bus stand, pond beautification, solar street light etc, if a Non Resident Gujarati contribute 60 per cent amount, the balance 40 per cent amount will be contributed by the State government as per the provisions made in Vatan Prem Yojana.
Large number of Gujaratis reside outside Gujarat in various states and countries. Such NRI and NRG community continue to contribute to development of native villages. With Vatan Prem Yojana, the State government will also offer its own contribution to such projects and further boost such endeavors.
The launch of the scheme took place in a function that saw inauguration and foundation stone laying for Rs. 5300 crore development works across the State to mark ‘Vikas Divas’.
