Gandhinagar: Former health minister and congress MLA Dr. Anil Joshiyara has been airlifted to Chennai for further treatment of covid-19. He was under treatment at private-run CIMS Hospital Ahmedabad.

Congress MLA Dr Anil Joshiyara is suffering from covid-19 for around a month. He was on a ventilator support in CIMS hospital for last 10 days. He is taken to Chennai for treatment through ECMO (Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygen) technique. ECMO is a life support system in which an artificial heart and a pair of lungs function outside the body.

MLA Dr Anil Joshiyara had served as state health minister from 1995 to 1997. He had served as Gujarat state congress committee chief from 1998 to 2000 after his defeat from late Upendra Trivedi in 1998 state assembly election.
