Govt allots 35 acre land for WHO global Centre in Jamnagar

Jamnagar: PM Narendra Modi is likely to visit Jamnagar for foundation stone laying of WHO Global Centre for Traditional Medicine on 24th April.
The government has allotted 35 acres of land at Gordhanpar village at airport road in Jamnagar for WHO Global Centre for Traditional Medicine. The WHO and Ministry of Aayush of Government of India have signed an MoU for establishing the centre. The budget of around Rs 250 million dollars is estimated for this project.
WHO director general Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus had given verbal consent for establishing a global centre, when he had virtually joined the program in which PM Modi gave the status of Institute of National Importance to the Institute of Training and Research in Ayurved (ITRA).
