Amreli: A pair of lion and lioness attacked a farm laborer in Nani Dhari village in Khambha, following which the farm labourer died and only his legs could be found.

The lion and lioness attacked farm labourer Bhaydesh Bulabhai Payar who is originally from Madhya Pradesh, when he was returning home from the farm area in the evening. Dhari Gir East DCF Rajdip Sinh Zala informed that the lion had been captured in a cage, while the operation to capture the lioness was underway. The incident took place when the lion and lioness were in their mating period.

The lion didn’t leave the dead body for an hour after killing, it is learnt. Only the legs of the deceased were found by the forest department. The forest department team captured the lion in a cage at midnight. The lioness is yet to be captured. DeshGujarat
