Surat: Harshad Kachhadiya (31) from the Yogi Chowk area of the city purchased a 391.100 mg silver keychain (zudo) for Rs. 39,000 after watching a reel announcing a discount scheme at Rijoy Jewellers. However, when he got the keychain checked, 189.445 mg of silver was missing from the item. Kachhadiya filed a complaint on October 23 at Sarthana Police Station against the owners and partners of Rejoy Jewellers.

Kachhadiya stated in his complaint that he had watched a reel on social media announcing a 40 percent discount on silver purchases. He then purchased a 391.100 mg silver keychain (zudo) worth Rs. 39,000 on October 7 from Rejoy Jewellers. However, the keychain started developing a black color within a few days. When checked at an A-One Tech-based facility, the pure silver content was found to be only 171.955 mg. The chain’s quality showed a silver proportion of 8 to 15 percent, while the clips had 28 to 39 percent, and the balls had 50 to 90 percent silver.
