Praful Patel dedicates Sardar Patel statue at Ahmedabad airport
Ahmedabad, 9 January, 2011
Central Civil Aviation Minister Praful Patel was in Ahmedabad today morning to dedicate the statue of Shri Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
The statue has been made by Padma award artist Ram Sutar in Delhi. Shri Ram Sutar was also present in the unveiling ceremony at the airport.
The Airport Authority of India has spent Rs. 50 lakh in making and installing this statue.
The statue has been installed at Ahmedabad’s Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel international airport following the announcement made by Praful Patel last year when he was here to open a newly constructed international terminal.
The height of the statue is 18 ft, and it is possibly the tallest statue of Shri Sardar Patel in entire Gujarat.
Central minister of state Dinsha Patel, local MP Harin Pathak, Airport Authority of India’s Chairman V.P.Agrawal, wife of Praful Patel smt Varsha Patel were present in the inaugural ceremony among others.
