Gujarat delegation led by Narendra Modi to visit Uganda and Kenya

A high level delegation from government of Gujarat led by Chief Minister Narendra Modi will visit two east African nations Uganda and Kenya from November 17th to 20th.
The four-day trip is going to take place on Ugandan president Yoweri Museveni and Kenyan Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s invitations. Uagandan President Yoweri Museveni had visited Gujarat in May 2007 and had extended an invitation to Modi. The delegation will visit Kampala and Uganda on November 17th and 18th while on November 19th and 20th the delegation will visit Nairobi and Kenya.
The high level delegation from Gujarat will discuss mutual partnerships in the areas of cotton, corn, tobacco, tea, coffee, crude oil, cobalt, copper, minerals and gas with Uganda. While with Kenya Gujarat delegation will discuss possible avenues of partnerships in sectors including agricultural products, tourism, petroleum exploration and dairy industry.
The Chief Minister will address leading industrialists in Uganda and Kenya to promote Vibrant Gujarat Global Investors Summit 2009. Kenyan Prime Minister has organised a dinner to welcome the Gujarat delegation.
Gujarat delegation will be felicitated by Hindu Council and Pramukhswami’s Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan sanstha(BAPS) in a grand function at Nairobi.
Among those who will be accompanying Modi for the four-day trip include Parimal Nathwani, Gautam Adani, Chintan Parikh, Nitin Sandesra and Harish Sheth. Two senior IAS officials — Modi’s additional principal secretary GC Murmu and tourism commissioner PD Vaghela, left for East Africa late on Saturday to make preparations for Modi.
