Gujarat govt to purchase millets at support price for the first time

Gandhinagar: The state government will buy millets namely summer Bajri, Juvar and Ragi at the support price from the farmers for the first time in the state, considering 2023 observed as an ‘international millet year’.
The state government spokesperson Rushikesh Patel declared that the purchase will be made through biometric authentication with the Aadhar card of the farmers. The farmers willing to sell their crops at the minimum support price decided by the central government have to make online registration on the FPP portal of the state government from 1st March to 31st March 2023.
The purchase will be made at 237 purchase centers- godowns across the state from 1st April to 15th June 2023. The farmers can make online registration from VCE at the village level and godowns of the civil supply board at the Taluka level. The purchase of millet will be made at the support price of Rs 2350 per quintal, or Rs 470 per mann. DeshGujarat
