Police nab menacing goon after strike by merchants in Malekpur over not taking FIR

Mahisagar: The merchants in Malekpur near Lunwada in Central Gujarat, observed a day-long strike against the alleged bootlegger and goon Vikram Malivad. The protesters closed their shops and gathered on the road.

Vikram Malivad, also known as the “bootlegger don,” was reported to have bought items from the Malekpur merchants without paying for them. If the merchants asked for payment, he allegedly would beat them up with sticks or other sharp objects. He would come in a black car and also issue death threats by showing them a revolver.

This week, he attacked a person who was standing near a shop. The locals and approximately 300-400 shopkeepers, marched to the police station to file a complaint against him. However, the police did not register a complaint, and as a result, the shopkeepers closed their shops in protest.

The situation was brought under control when DySP PS Vadvi visited the location and ensured strict actions. The police apprehended Vikram Malivad, along with his nephew Manojbhai Malivad, Shaileshbhai Malivad, Vijaybhai, Rajubhai, and Surpal, and filed a complaint against them.  DeshGujarat
