MLA Geniben Thakor’s drunk brother held by Police with liquor bottles

Banaskantha: Congress MLA from Banaskantha’s Vav, Geniben Thakor, is known for her strong stance on the liquor ban. However, now Geniben Thakor’s brother has been caught in a drunken state with a quantity of liquor.
Geniben Thakor’s brother, Ramesh Nagaji Thakor, was caught in an intoxicated state by the LCB police in Abasana village, Bhabhar. The police received information about a person drinking alcohol and creating a disturbance in public. During the raid, Ramesh Nagaji Thakor was found drunk near Prahlad Manaji Thakor’s house, and a bottle of liquor was seized from him. Consequently, the police detained him and registered a prohibition case at Bhabhar police station.
Deodar DySP D.T. Gohil stated that based on information about liquor sales by Prahlad Thakor in Abasana village, the LCB conducted a raid. Although Prahlad Thakor was not present, four bottles of liquor were seized from his house. During the search of a nearby paper shop, Ramesh Ngaji Thakor, the brother of MLA Geniben Thakor, was found drunk and subsequently detained for further investigation.
Geniben Thakor responded by talking about the long-standing issue of the LCB’s involvement in the liquor trade in Banaskantha. She claimed that there were concerted efforts to suppress her endeavours and recalled previous incidents where she encountered similar challenges. Geniben emphasized her unwavering commitment to combating liquor sales, asserting that she would spare no one, even if it meant taking action against her own family members.
