PM Modi to dedicate Rajkot’s first double-decker flyover on July 27

Rajkot: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the city’s first multilevel flyover on July 27 during his two-day-long visit to his home state of Gujarat. The flyover has been constructed at an estimated cost of ₹129.53 crore at KKV Chowk of Kalavad road. PM is likely to declare the new flyover open from a function at Racecourse road where he is also going to inaugurate the development works worth hundreds of crores of Rupees including the inauguration of SAUNI yojana link – 3’s two packages.

The upcoming flyover is a second-level elevated flyover built over an existing first-level flyover, which is already functional. Once inaugurated, it will be the first double-decker flyover in Rajkot city.

A 1.15 km long and 15-meter-wide overbridge will provide relief to commuters from traffic jams. The new overbridge connects the city’s Kalavad road to the 150 ft ring-road.
