Gujarat govt floats tenders for flight operations on intra-state routes

Gandhinagar: The government has invited Bids for flights to Keshod, Amreli, and Rajkot from Ahmedabad airport under Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS).
The state government invited tenders to start flights on 11 routes from Ahmedabad and Vadodara. It includes 7 routes from Ahmedabad to Keshod, Porbandar, Rajkot, Amreli, and Bhavnagar. The helicopter service will be started to the Statue of Unity and Ambaji from Ahmedabad.
The state government will pay Rs 5,000 per seat per sector as Viability Funding Gap to the airline providing the service on the allotted route. It will be considered valid as per 50 percent seats of the aircraft. The last date for filing the tender for the flights from Vadodara airport to Porbandar, Bhuj, and Keshod will be 2nd September.
The airline company selected for providing the service will have to provide the flight service at least 2 days a week. The airline will have to provide the service for at least 2 years. The airline company can use any aircraft for the service, not older than 20 years. The airline will have to provide an online portal for ticket booking. The duration for reaching Rajkot from Ahmedabad airport will be 30 minutes in the small Jet and 40 minutes in the single-engine plane. DeshGujarat
